Guardian vydal seznam 100 nejlepších románů (btw. mám přečtených 9). Tolkien se nedostal do stovky (rude), ačkoliv se k němu odkazuje:

Že papež bude vysvětlovat Tolkiena tech bráškům (z anglického tech bro, sorry not sorry), nebylo na mé bingo kartičce. Stejně jako, že přečtu povídku, ve které se objevuje Andrew Gelman a podstatnou část povídky bude tvořit syntax v R-ku (povídky Helen DeWitt: Some Trick).
Kromě toho jsem si pro potřeby jednoho paperu četl skutečné texty A. Gelmana, včetně jeho kritiky jednoho regression discontinuity paperu. A taky následnou odpověď jednoho z autorů na kritiku. Stačí zkritizovat váš paper a kvanti výzkumníci začnou psát zajímavě:
That being said, I was wondering whether I should dignify Andrew Gelman’s criticism with a response. He did little to engage with the material (and it shows). Here is my view: Andrew Gelman is an academic Woody Allen. Some of his work is very good, but his blog post on our study is closer to A Rainy Day in New York than, say, Annie Hall.
